Billing Problems and Complaints (615 reviews)
They'll re-enroll you after you cancel with them with 3x rates of other companies
“ AP&G talked me into continuing my contract after it expired, promising they would work to be competitive to keep my business. After the next billing, their rates were 2x greater on electricity, so I switched to another company. The next month I got a $700+ bill with them still as my supplier, even though I had switched. I called the company I switched to and was told that AP&G canceled with them and re-enrolled me...without my permission. AP&G issued a partial refund, but I won't be returning to them, as this business practice is unethical. ”

Impossible to reach customer service
“ Billing was estimated, then bill was corrected after months of checking in and asking about the new meter info being added. The next bill did not match the correction. Called to ask about the billing. Took many attempts to get through automated line forcing me to go through the same loop 3 times with the exact answers to be sent to a supposed human. Rang and got the now usual response of "higher than expected call volume". They would call back in 90 minutes. Never happens! No response still. ”

Highly Disappointed with Service Termination Process
“ I requested in person a termination of service on 9/8/22 for the end of the month. Come October, I find out I owe money for 10/1 - 10/17. I call them and the first representative says she sees the request to 'maintain' service until end of September and then terminate, but it wasn't done until 10/17 when the new owner of the house decided to move in. She said it was clear and she needed to transfer me to the billing department for a credit. I get on with them, they deny seeing the request even though the first person said it was clearly in the system. I now have to file a dispute and justify. This is ridiculous. I have been a customer for 20+ years in various houses. This is not the way to do business. ”

Buyer Beware on Renewing
“
Clearview has competitive rates and it's easy to sign up. However, you can be frustrated and actually taken advantage of when renewing your supply contract. Clearview has a misleading billing policy, the kWh rate at time of renewing doesn't go into affect until months latter. The rate you think you are getting, in my case 7.09 cents/kWh was actually billed at 8.990 cents/kWh, which is their default and highest rate.
Clearview's default rate of 8.990 cents was even higher than Eversource's supply rate of 8.391 cents/kWh. Clearview's higher default supply rate stays in effect until the 3rd billing cycle, or March in my case. I calculated that I had to pay $76.02 more under this deceptive billing practice on my Dec/Jan bill. My current Electric Bill and next months negates any savings I would have had for a 6 month contract with Clearview. The bottom line is under Clearview's billing I'm actually paying more for my supply rate and wasn't told up front that their new rate doesn't go into effect at the start of the new contract.
This type of billing practice is not Clear, deceptive and is contrary to the supply rate posted; as you will pay a higher rate for at least two months out of a 6 month supply contract. ”

I wish I knew more before I switched.
“ After switching my first bill was twice what my normal bill was, I still owe over $100 to Georgia Natural Gas ®, and I found out too late that budget billing isnt available at infinite energy until Ive been there for seven months. Ive lived in Atlanta and had gas service since 1978, yet Im not trustworthy enough to join their budget billing program. So far it has cost me more and been more of a pain in the butt and Im feeling it is worth. ”
