Problems with Fees and Charges (664 reviews)
Excessive charges & cannot accommodate customers
“ I cannot begin to explain the excessive charges we receive in bills monthly. Its almost criminal. We conserve soo much, we live with lights off constantly, conserve heat & a/c to the point of always being uncomfortable. We are still bill $500-$800 at any one time. Its outrageous to be charged this for using the bare minimum, as were always cold or hot and function with no lights on at least 18-20hrs a day to preserve. But we pay as if we are living comfortable and we are not. Its unacceptable. On top of this, there are power outages all the time. They cannot accommodate their bill cycles to allow for you to be able to pay these extremely questionable rates at a more convenient time for the customer. I am beginning to despise New York and its crippling prices to live. There is no quality of life here. ”

Frontier Utilities is EXPENSIVE
“ I have been a customer for almost one year and I cannot wait to no longer have this company as my electricity provider. Their rates are VERY HIGH. It's not clear on their website that the TDU charges are extreme. I will soon be a customer of Energy Ogre (Power Next) and my bills will be cut in half. Thank goodness. ”

No notice, No email, No text message, No electric
“ In this day and age of internet, text messages, emails, instant everything....Not this company. Didn't even try to hide the fact that they are disconnecting people with no notice for the reactivation fees. How american of them. Greed just trumps everything. They wont have this customer much longer. I'm an apartment manager and will never refer this company to anyone ever again. Powertochoose.org people. Don't choose this company. A simple phone call text or email could have prevented this relationship from ending. No more referrals from my apt communities and no more money from my household. BYE FELICIA ”

Not really a deal at all
“ I used Infinite Energy until they were bought out. My rate with IE was $0.549 and my rate with Xoom Energy was $0.399. Yet my monthly bills arrived $20-40 more expensive than the corresponding month from IE despite having a lower rate. There must have been some added fees in there. I'm not sure, because the bill is very difficult to understand and the website is awful. I do not recommend Xoom. ”

Not worth it
“ I had Ambit for 1 year and the rate was fair for a few months and then starting going up. There is no way to pay half before the due date and then pay the rest with out paying a fee. I paid $289 for February and now for March it's $363.91. And Oncor charges are ridiculous $112. So I am done with Ambit! Cancelled and not going back. ”
