1. Don\u2019t install with power on<\/strong>. Plug in your lights to check them but avoid installing the lights when powered on. In case of any kind of accident during installation, you\u2019ll reduce the risk of shock or fire when you unplug the lights or otherwise shut off power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Lights need to be suitable for outdoor use.<\/strong> You can’t use just any lights outdoors. If you use the wrong lights outside, they\u2019ll be more susceptible to failure which can lead to injuries, damage to your home or landscaping, or even a serious fire. If you plug into an extension cord, it also needs to be rated for outdoor use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
